Campsite Yelloh Village Les Cascades
Campsite Yelloh Village The Cascades in the Gard in southern France is beautifully situated on the river Cèze. We stayed there at the end of August with the kids and our dog Buddy. We used to have a Yelloh! visited, but this was the first time we actually stayed there. During the last summer holidays we rented a house with a swimming pool together with my parents. This year they didn't come along and we booked a cottage at Yelloh Village Les Cascades in the Gard. It is always a question of whether it is really a quiet campsite and luckily it was this time!
Our dog Buddy also went to France
That year our labrador Buddy joined us on a trip and so we were looking for a campsite that was not only quiet, but also suitable for dogs. Furthermore, on our list of priorities: a swimming pool, a shop where we could buy delicious French bread, lots of nature and swimming opportunities for our Chocolate Labrador. We found all this at this Yelloh! campsite right next to Les Cascades de Sautadet.
Access to the beach on the river Cèze
The campsite offers access to a pebble beach on the Cèze via a gate on the campsite with a code. Access to the beach can only be used by people staying at camping Yelloh! Village Les Cascades. Every morning and evening we went swimming in the river with Buddy. He loved it there. Especially in the morning before 10:00 there is no one to be seen at the water and our dog could play in the water to his heart's content. After 10:00 am the first people arrive on foot via the cascades to the beach at the campsite.
They cannot go to the beach through the gate of the campsite, but park their car at the foot of the slope of the village of “La Roque sur Cèze”. From the parking lot they then walk along the river to the beach. You can see them coming from afar with all kinds of gear and scrambling over the rocks. In the evening most people have already left by 19 pm and then it is time to come and swim with Buddy again.
Yelloh! Cottage Vigne *** with air conditioning
We had chosen a Yelloh! Cottage Vigne 4 persons *** with air conditioning, where dogs are allowed. On the Yelloh! website it is indicated at each cottage with a pictogram whether or not dogs are allowed. The cottage was fairly simple with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room with open kitchen and 1 toilet.
Very quiet campsite
Outside we had a beautiful wooden terrace with awnings and 2 sun loungers. It was the first time in years that we went back to "basics" like this, but it turned out great! The beds are, as usual in France, a bit on the small side and a bit too hard, but we slept very well. You always have to be lucky on a campsite with the neighbors, but in the evening it was quiet from 21 pm. There was sometimes some music coming from the direction of the bar in the evening, but it was never disturbing at our place. At 30 pm it is dead quiet everywhere anyway.
The swimming pool at camping Yelloh! village Les Cascades
The water of the pool was a bit fresh for me, but could be a plus for some people. I prefer the water to be as warm as possible. The lounge chairs at the pool were very comfortable. There is a hot tub area in the pool, but lukewarm bubbles are not for me. The restaurant “Les Cascades”is an Italian restaurant and is located next to the swimming pool. It is definitely worth eating there. When we stayed it was my daughter's birthday and her favorite dish is pizza, so of course we went there for dinner that day. She said the vegetarian pizza was one of the best pizzas she'd ever eaten! I chose a pasta with langoustines and lots of olive oil, very tasty. The French bread that you get with it is also of a different order than the baguette of the campsite, great! The bread at the campsite is also delicious.
What excursions can you make near the Les Cascades campsite?
Camping Yelloh Village Les Cascades is ideally located in the Garde to make all kinds of trips with the children in the Gard department in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. The first trip you can possibly make is a walk to one of the most beautiful villages in France. The village "La Roque-sur-Ceze” is right next to the campsite and is nice to visit. If you also want to eat there, it is best to go in the evening, because when we were there in the afternoon, only a souvenir shop was open. Incredibly, there was not a single café or restaurant open at noon! La Roque-sur-Cèze is very nice to walk around. Be sure to bring water or buy an (expensive) bottle of water in the souvenir shop at the church.

Location of the campsite
The campsite is 970 km from Ghent (Belgium) and is easily accessible via Reims, Dijon and Lyon. In Lyon there is always a bit of a traffic jam, but this time it was not too bad. We drove back on August 31, so there were fewer traffic jams. This summer we will go to camping Yelloh Les Ramières in the Drôme and drive back another day. Hopefully not too many traffic jams!
